What a way to wrap up the year. Tuesday’s SecTalks Legends panel with Josh, moderated by Pedram, was honestly one of the most fun and insightful sessions of 2025.

Had a blast jamming on “Surviving the Security–Engineering Collision”. Everything from why security and engineering still clash, to the real-world trade-offs between speed vs security, to the cultural and communication gaps that can either derail or supercharge teams. Having Josh bring his digital forensics and incident response lens, while I came in from an application and product side of security, made for some really lively back-and-forth and plenty of “oh yeah, been there” moments.

Huge thanks to Pedram for steering the discussion so smoothly, to Josh for being such a great panel partner, and to everyone who came along, asked questions, and shared their experiences.
