Had a great time last week at the Future of Financial Services: Security events where I was on two panels, first was in Sydney with Cody and Luke, the second in Melbourne with Shannon, Faith, Andrew and Luke where we discussed about maintaining strong security during digital transformation. We spoke about the need for reasonable security controls and the value of working closely with legal and compliance teams to gain business support. I learned a lot from the discussion, including the importance of building good relationships with your vendors as you don’t want to be speaking with them for the first time when there is an incident. While I work closely with our security vendors, I can’t say the same of the other third party providers; especially those where we’re doing material outsourcing. Something to improve on.
