7226(SCAM), that’s the number Telstra customers can now forward scam SMS and MMS messages. Doing that helps prevent the same scam from potentially affecting others. And in case you’re wondering, messages forwarded do not automatically turn into block.
This is part of Telstra’s Cleaner Pipes Initiative, which blocks around 23 million scam SMS each month! They can’t catch everything and today they’re launched an initiative to allow their customers to snitch a scammer so that others won’t fall prey.
