The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has just published statistical information about notifications received under the Notifiable Data Breached (NDV) Scheme from 1 July to 31 December 2022. It had received 497 notifications, which is up 26%. Health service providers and financial services make up the Top sectors to notify. 25% of those notifications were data breaches that resulted from Human error with Personal Information emailed to wrong recipient being the top causes.
