The hackers behind the Medibank breach released their largest data dump in the early hours of this morning. The six gigabytes dump of up to 10 million customer’s personal data appears to be the remainder of the stolen information with the hackers adding the comments “Happy Cyber Security Day!!! Added folder full. Case closed.” The insurance company is also staring down the barrel of a hefty fine as Australia’s privacy watchdog, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or OAIC announced today that its investigating Medibank’s handling of customer data. they’ll be focusing on whether Medibank took reasonable steps to personal information it held from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
