The Australian Federal Police made a statement today about the Medibank data breach. They said that while they know which individuals are responsible, they will not be naming them. However the Australian Federal Police Commissioner said that those responsible are in Russia and intelligence had indicated that they are likely responsible for past significant breaches in countries across the world. The ransomware group had in the last 2 days released information in two lots of files. One titled “abortions.csv” and that contains a list of Medibank customers who had undergone abortions. And the other titled “Boozy.csv” which contains information related to individuals with alcohol issues. The Australian Federal Police Commissioner said that the AFP and their partners are not going to give up bringing those responsible to justice. He also and made a plea to businesses to ensure their systems are protected.
