The list of cyber breaches in Australia is continuing to rise with a Melbourne Real Estate company being the latest target. An “unknown third party” had accessed its rental property database. This revelation came just over a week after digital rights advocates warned that a data breach in the real estate sector could be worse than the recent Optus and Medibank hacks. It’s not know how many people were impacted by the breach but the information the hacker could have assessed includes the full legal name of renters, their email address, home address, phone number, a copy of their signature and any photo identification they supplied to the company.
